Rockford 21 East Kentwood 14

Grandville 28 Caledonia 7: The Bulldogs made quick work of the Fighting Scots. Braylen Haney had a hat trick with three touchdown plunges (all two yards or shorter), while DJ Hardiman provided some needed burst with a 30-yard touchdown sprint. Northview 35 Holland Christian 28: Northview wins their 13th straight regular season game, holding off the Maroons. Grif Leuuw accounted for all four Holland Christian scores in this one, passing for three and rushing for a fourth.

GR Catholic Central 10 East Grand Rapids 7: Some last-second heroics lifted the Cougars to victory. Check out the game story here!

Zeeland West 12 South Christian 6: The Dux escape with a thrilling last-second victory, their third straight game with last second heroics. Check out our complete game story here!

Forest Hills Central 42 Wyoming 6: The Rangers evened their record at 2-2 with a dominant performance against the Wolves. Nick Williams only threw six passes, but he completed five for 95 yards and two scores. Williams added a third touchdown on the ground. Collin Grupe had 20 carries for 133 yards and a score, while Jackson Hartman led the defense with 8 tackles and an interception return for a score.

Unity Christian 50 Zeeland East 12: The ‘Saders quickly dashed any hopes the Chix had in this OK Gold opener by scoring the game’s first 22 points. Justin Febus threw for a touchdown for UC, and he added 148 rushing yards and two scores on just seven carries. Brody Scholten added five carries for 18 yards, but he scored twice. Unity Christian racked up 416 yards of offense, and they have now scored 180 points in four games. In defeat, Will Drnek threw for 153 yards on 16/23 passing. Drnek had a touchdown and an interception thrown.

 

OK GREEN

Muskegon 46 Byron Center 17: The Big Reds dominated the Bulldogs to get their second straight victory. Muskegon led from the jump, outgaining Byron Center 541-208. It was a ground-heavy attack for the victors, as they rushed 45 times for 481 yards. Keshawn Brummer led the way with 18 carries for 296 yards and three touchdowns, including an 84-yard sprint. Lamar Bradford threw a touchdown, but also rushed for 65 yards and two scores.

Forest Hills Northern 49 GR Union 19: The Huskies get a much-needed victory to improve to 2-2 on the season. It was another solid night for Owen Ostipow, as he completed 8/9 passes for 98 yards and a touchdown, while also rushing five times for 89 yards and three scores. As a team, FHN rushed for 283 yards and five touchdowns on 44 carries. Jason Scruggs added a thrilling 65-yard punt return score for FHN, only to be matched by Union’s Jaden Reed, who raced 85 yards on a kick return score. Reed also had an 84-yard receiving touchdown on his only catch, showcasing his explosive ability.

Forest Hills Eastern 27 Wayland 16: The Hawks move to 3-1 with a win over Wayland. FHE was in control from the jump, with leads of 14-0 and 20-3. Wayland rallied late, but could not make up the deficit. Charlie Soet hit two field goals (23 and 29 yards) for FHE, while Jordan Shabazz rushed for 158 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries. In defeat, Wil Lodenstein had 129 yards and a touchdown on 27 carries. FHE only outgained Wayland 321-299, but their 2-0 advantage in the turnover margin was crucial in their victory.

Coopersville 36 Sparta 7: The Coopersville Broncos disposed of their longtime rivals, the Sparta Spartans, with a 36-7 victory on Friday night in their second River Cities game of the season. From the opening kick, the Broncos were in control. They scored the first 36 points before relinquishing a late score. Champ Kelly passed for two touchdowns, while Leland Noel added two scores on the ground.

CSAA GOLD

Big Rapids 63 Tri-County 6: The Cardinals crushed the Vikings in a big CSAA Gold matchup. It was 7-6 Big Rapids with four minutes to go in first quarter, before Big Rapids scored 56 unanswered points. This is the most points Big Rapids has scored since at least 1950. Cole Haist completed 9/11 passes for 146 yards and a touchdown, while adding another score on the ground. Jack Bollman and Dan Langell each added two rushing touchdowns, as the Cardinals tallied 417 yards of total offense.

Ludington 52 Oakridge 0: It was another six touchdown night for Cam Gunsell, though this time he only played in the first half. Gunsell finished 9/13 passing for 154 yards and two scores, both passes to Mikey Himes. He added 16 carries for 128 yards and four scores, while also recording five tackles and a TFL. Mikey Himes finished this game with 154 offensive yards (52 receiving, 102 rushing) on 12 touches.

Orchard View 26 Manistee 22: The Cardinals pick up a big WMC victory, knocking off the Mariners. Orchard View led 26-16 with six minutes to play, before a quick touchdown strike from Dayvion Neal-Berry to Braylen Zimmerman of 80 yards. Manistee secured a quick interception to get the ball back, but a fumble just moments later secured the win for Orchard View. In defeat, Dayvion Neal-Berry was 5/8 passing for 223 yards and two touchdowns. He went up top to his top target, Zimmerman, who finished with two catches for 116 yards and two touchdowns, as well as a two-point conversion

Karter Frens rushed 17 times for 157 yards and a touchdown, while Brayden Crosley passed for 94 yards, rushed for 11 yards, and accounted for three Packer scores.

Twin City Sharks 50 Adrian Lenawee Christian 39: The Sharks secure their first win of the year against ALC. Twin City held a 486-310 yardage advantage, with Evan Watts rushing for 174 yards and two scores. Watts also caught a 32-yard touchdown. Anthony Ealey had 104 receiving yards and two touchdowns on four catches.

OTHER NOTABLE 11-MAN SCORES

Muskegon Catholic Central 27 Benton Harbor 26: The Crusaders even their record at 2-2, earning their first on-field victory in a thriller against the longtime rival Tigers. These teams were back and forth early, before Benton Harbor secured a 26-14 lead with 4:14 to play. Muskegon Catholic Central rallied with two rushing touchdowns, including the game winner by Timmy Railling with 39 seconds to play. Railling had another huge game with 39 carries for 224 yards and all four MCC touchdowns.

Mendon 59 Athens 0: It was sheer domination as the Hornets began SCAA Red action. They scored 32 first quarter points, and outgained Athens 437-60 in this contest. Ryder Gorham was perfect passing the football, completing all four pass attempts for 110 yards and four touchdowns. Owen Gorham added 124 rushing yards and a touchdown, while also catching a score. Xavier Zinsmaster also added to the scoring parade with two touchdowns. Athens drops to 0-4, and the Indians have been outscored 247-0 so far this season.

Britton Deerfield 66 Concord 36: The ‘Jackets fall to a second straight tough opponent, starting SCAA White play with a loss to B-D. Concord just played this game from behind, falling back 14-0 early and never being able to recover. Britton-Deerfield, now 3-1 with a close loss to Mendon, outgained Concord 522-321 in this game. Gavin Riske faced some challenges, but he still managed to score four touchdowns (two passing, two rushing).
