The Marcellus Wildcats defeated the Eau Claire Beavers in their regular season finale on Friday.

Marcellus cruised to a 64-24 victory, their sixth of the fall. This 6-win season is the most for the Wildcats’ program since 2003, when they made the playoffs at 6-4.

Dawsen Lehew led the offensive attack with 25 carries for 213 yards and four touchdowns. Cole Thornburgh added 13 carries for 123 yards and three scores. Thornburgh also had a receiving touchdown.

Defensively, Brock Buck led the way with 10 tackles, three for loss. Jackson Krzycki added 5 tackles and recorded three interceptions.

Despite posting a 6-3 record, Marcellus will need to sweat out whether they will qualify for the playoffs. They were ranked #20 (only 16 qualify in 8-man football) heading into the final game. The other games around the state will determine their fate.
