The Forest Hills Central Rangers have continued to flex their muscle as one of the area’s top teams. This was the case again on Friday night, as they had little trouble against East Grand Rapids, securing a 31-7 victory.

Eight minutes into the game, FHC found the scoring column. Justin Osterhouse paired up on a 39-yard touchdown pass to Ty Hudkins, giving the Rangers a 7-0 advantage.

In the second quarter, the Rangers’ defense would extend the lead. Max Richardson stepped in front of a Pioneers pass, rumbling 46 yards to the end zone. Later in the quarter, Richardson would find the end zone on offense. His 6-yard touchdown catch from Osterhouse capped off a scoring drive.

Andrew Novay booted a 32-yard field goal as the first half expired, giving FHC a 24-0 edge.

Early in the third quarter, the Rangers pushed the lead even further. JT Hartman shot through the EGR defense, racing down the field for a 78-yard score.

Ian MacKeigan would prevent a shutout, as he delivered a 3-yard touchdown run for the Pioneers late in the third quarter.

Justin Osterhouse finished this game 7/10 passing for 110 yards and two scores. JT Hartman paced the Rangers’ ballcarriers with 103 yards on just six carries. Ty Hudkins had 5 catches for 88 yards. Ray Cargill led the FHC defense with 12 tackles.

Next week, Forest Hills Central (4-0) will take on Northview. East Grand Rapids (1-3) will try and get things rolling against Grand Rapids Christian.
