The Cardinals blank the Tigers as Big Rapids get the 47-0 win on homecoming.

The 1st quarter was a display of two defenses that came to play. That’s when special teams for the Cardinals stepped up and converted the 25-yard field goal by Jace Heck for the only score of the 1st quarter.

The 2nd quarter turned out to be more eventful. Halfway through the quarter, Wil Strickler would power his way in for the 10-yard score. Heck would convert the PAT. The next possession, the Cardinal defense would step up big and sack Oakley Obernauf for the safety. 3-minutes left in the half and Strickler would drop back and find Garrett Foster across the middle for the 17-yard score. Foster would score on the 2-point try. A minute and half later, Strickler would drop back, and this time find Riley Vennix for the 24-yard reception and score. Big Rapids was not able to score on the 2-point try. At the half Big Rapids led Grant, 26-0.

The 2nd half went quick, the only score of the 3rd quarter came 2-minutes in when Strickler would find Zander Prince down the middle for a 51-yard score. Heck would convert the PAT. In the 4th quarter, 5 seconds in Strickler would find Brayden Foster outside for the 4-yard reception. Heck’s PAT is good. The Cardinals would put one last score on the board with a minute remaining, this time the 11-yard run from Jack Bollman. Heck’s PAT is good. Big Rapids defeats Grant, 47-0.

Grant falls to 1-5. They will host Central Montcalm next Friday. Big Rapids moves to 4-2. The Cardinals will travel to Tri-County.
