Tri-County will keep the sledgehammer for another season, as they defeat rival Grant big, 42-0.

David Sheehan started the scoring for the Vikings with a 12-yard rushing touchdown with 3:03 remaining in the first. The two-point conversion was good. With just a minute left in the quarter, and the Vikings on the 1-yard line, Trent Behrenwald powered it in for his first score of the game. This two-point try was also good. At the end of one, Tri-County 16-0.

The second quarter saw the flood gates open for Tri-County. Two minutes into the quarter, Sheehan found Stuart Gould for the 70-yard touchdown pass. Once again, their two-point try was good. Not a minute later, Behrenwald finds the paint again, this time on a 10-yard run. Near the two minute mark, Coach Butler decided to go back to his workhorse, Behrenwald, as he gets his 3rd hat trick of the season. That score gave Tri-County the 36-0 going into half.

Both defenses stepped up in the 3rd quarter as no one scored. In the 4th the Vikings put one last score on the board. This time, it was a 1-yard rush from Owen Behrenwald. The Vikings hold onto the sledgehammer with the 42-0 win.

The Vikings improve to 3-0 on the season and will host Newaygo next week. Grant goes to 1-2 and will host former CSAA member, Fremont.
