It was quite the competition Friday night at Lumen Christi, as the Hastings Saxons came to town. The scoring opened up in the first quarter with an 8-yard touchdown run from Lanny Teunessen, which he followed up with a two-point conversion, completing the Octopus.

Lumen Christi responded with a 3-yard touchdown run. The Titans then grabbed the lead with 2:50 to go in the half with a 1-yard rushing touchdown. Hastings would quickly respond with an 8-yard rushing touchdown by Lanny Teunessen. Robby Slaughter converted the two point try and gave the Saxons a 16-14 lead at the break.

Lumen Christi would strike back with a 40-yard touchdown run to put them up 5 midway through the third. Lanny Teunessen would answer again, this time from a yard away as he put the Saxons up by 3, a lead they would not relinquish. Hastings held on and won 24-21 against a stout Titans squad.

The night belonged to Lanny Teunessen, who had 20 carries for 100 yards and three touchdowns. Robby Slaughter contributed with 22 carries for 146 yards.

Hastings will try and stay hot against Coldwater while Lumen Christi will try for its first win against Western on the road next week.
