The Beavers of Harper Creek looked to get their first victory of the season against Jackson Northwest. The two teams played a scoreless first quarter, but the second quarter was dominated by the Beavers. Matthew Wensauer started the scoring with a 9-yard rush to paydirt. Later in the second, KeyShaun Matthews had a 54-yard touchdown on a punt return. He followed up his house call with a receiving touchdown from Jesus Macedo to give the Beavers a 21-0 lead going to the break.

KeyShaun Matthews would get his third touchdown on a 9-yard touchdown in the fourth, to give the Beavers a 28-0 win over the Mounties.

KeyShaun Matthews was the jack of all trades, scoring through the air, ground, and special teams. He had 97 total yards and three touchdowns. Jesus Macedo and Matthew Wensauer also had scores for the Beavers.

Harper Creek will hit the road to take on Marshall next week, and Northwest will host Pennfield next Saturday.
