The seventh week of the MHSAA football season is behind us, and the action was exciting! Below, you can find all of the scores, standout performances and links to recap articles! OK RED
Hudsonville 43 East Kentwood 42: The game of the year in the OK Red, if not all of West Michigan, came down to the final play. Check out what happens to help the Eagles move to a perfect 7-0 in our MSR Highlight Video!
Grand Haven 42 Grandville 28: The Bucs deal a stunning blow to the ‘Dawgs, picking up their first OK Red win of the season. This is Grand Haven’s first win over Grandville since their 2019 playoff upset. Check out the complete game recap here!
West Ottawa 33 Caledonia 30: The Panthers escape with an overtime win, overcoming a fierce Caledonia rally in the process. West Ottawa led 10-0, and 21-6, before Caledonia started to claw back. Ben Geerdes got the Fighting Scots rolling with a 24-yard pick six, and early in the fourth quarter, Caledonia took the lead on an Octopus by Ryne Wysocki. West Ottawa would respond with a 12-play scoring drive, capped off by a 1-yard touchdown from Jeremiah Williams to force the overtime period. In extra time, Landry Mueller’s 28-yard field goal put Caledonia ahead 30-27, but CJ Traylor won the game with a 4-yard carry on West Ottawa’s responding possession.
Rockford 38 Jenison 7: After a scoreless first quarter, Rockford would score the first 35 points in this ballgame. The Rams are now 5-2 on the season, while Jenison slides to 3-4.
OK WHITE
Grand Rapids Christian 29 Hamilton 28
West Catholic 48 Wayland 19: The Falcons secure at least a share of the OK White crown with this win over the Wildcats. West Catholic averaged 9.3 yards per carry on 31 attempts, matching the vaunted Wayland ground game that rushed 50 times for 332 yards. Abram Collin paced the victors on the ground with 11 carries for 145 yards and three scores.
Spring Lake 57 Forest Hills Eastern 43: The highest scoring game of the season was a thriller! It was only 7-7 after the first quarter, but the fireworks exploded from there. Landon O’Donnell rushed for five touchdowns in the win for Spring Lake, racking up 132 yards on 17 carries. He also completed all four passes, one going for a touchdown. Tyler Bolhuis added 102 rushing yards for the victorious Lakers, while Mason Herrena finished with 126 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries.
OK GOLD
South Christian 41 Zeeland East 12: The Sailors move their record to 4-3 with their third straight victory. It was a fantastic night for Brody Shilts, as he rushed 16 times for 155 yards and three touchdowns. He also completed all four of his passes for 80 yards, including a 33-yard touchdown pass to Dax Blackport. In the loss, Will Drnek finished 15/22 for 257 yards and a score, with Coby Miller securing three of those passes for 136 yards.
Unity Christian 55 Wyoming 6: The winning streak continues for the ‘Saders, as they are now a perfect 4-0. They have clinched at least a share of the league title, and they can secure an outright crown with a win over South Christian next week. For Wyoming, they have now lost four straight games after their 2-1 start, averaging six points per game in those contests.
Zeeland West 38 Forest Hills Central 24: The Dux pick up their fifth win of the season, thanks in large part to some key defensive plays. Right before the half, the Rangers were driving when Logan Nash intercepted an FHC pass. With this defeat, FHC slides to 2-5. They have Zeeland East and East Grand Rapids remaining on the schedule, as they try to get into the postseason.

East Grand Rapids 34 Middleville 7
Grand Rapids Catholic Central 35 Holland Christian 7: The Cougars win a league game that was much closer than the final score may indicate. Odin Spencer was back at quarterback, and twice he found Nick Schaab for scores. This gave CC a 14-7 halftime edge. Kamall Hillard rushed for a score in the third quarter, before catching a 37-yard touchdown pass in the fourth. Moses Brown iced the game with a 12-yard touchdown run with eight seconds to go, as the Cougars move to 7-0 on the season.
Northview 42 Ottawa Hills 0: Northview returns to the win column after two tough defeats. Their record improves to 5-2 on the season. Ottawa Hills’ slide pushes them to 0-7, with losses in 38 of their last 39 games.
OK GREEN
Byron Center 42 Reeths-Puffer 7: The Bulldogs are now 4-3 after their third straight victory. Easton Wychers was 16/24 passing for 194 yards and three touchdowns. He found Chase Swartz, Connor Nealon and Hunter Pulawski for those touchdowns. On the ground, Pulawski led the attack with 88 yards and a score, while Tate Bainbridge found the end zone twice. Byron Center outgained the Rockets 385-208 in this victory.
Muskegon 67 GR Union 0: The Big Reds racked up over 500 yards of offense as they cruised to victory over Union, scoring their most points in a game since a 76-0 win over Holland back in 2023. It’s now five straight wins for Muskegon after an 0-2 start, and they clinch at least a share of the OK Green with this victory. Muskegon scored 34 points in the second quarter alone. Amiere Chandler rushed for 105 yards and two touchdowns for the victorious Big Reds.
Mona Shores 27 Forest Hills Northern 14: The Sailors move to 4-3 on the year with an impressive rushing attack. Despite passing for (-3) yards, the Sailors rushed for 280. Dom Piggue had just four carries, but racked up 128 yards and a touchdown. Tomarion Stewart added 58 rushing yards and two touchdowns. In defeat, Owen Ostipow rushed 20 times for 194 yards and a touchdown.

Godwin Heights 31 Fruitport 30: The Wolverines secure a huge win over Fruitport to improve to 6-1 on the season, their most wins since their last non-COVID playoff season in 2018. With this victory, they guarantee that they will be playing for at least a share of the OK Silver in the final two weeks, as they are tied with Belding at 4-0. The Wolverines have not won a conference championship since 1989, when they were members of the OK Blue.

RIVER CITIES ALLIANCE
Kenowa Hills 34 Coopersville 31: The Knights secure at least a share of the RCA crown with their win over Coopersville. Kenowa Hills raced out to a 21-0 first quarter lead, with Lundon Hampton passing for a 36-yard touchdown and rushing for another long score. Coopersville responded with 21 points of their own, as Champ Kelly threw for three scores to even the count at 21 as the teams went to halftime. Kelly and Kenowa’s Grayson Fellows each threw for scores in the third quarter, leaving the game deadlocked at 28 with a stanza to play. Sam Kelly booted a 20-yard field goal to lift Coopersville ahead with nine minutes to go, before Lundon Hampton ripped off a 18-yard touchdown run to give Kenowa the game-winning score with six minutes to play.
Cedar Springs 51 Sparta 13: The Red Hawks scored the first 28 points in this game to cruise to their third straight victory. Luke Egan got things started with a 100-yard interception return for a touchdown. Kaiden Dryer and Noah Mallory each added two touchdown runs, while Egan would rush for his second touchdown late in the third quarter, Cedar Springs’ last score of the night. Nicholas Robinson and Avery Umphrey also added to the tally, with Robinson rushing for a score on a quarterback keeper, and Umphrey booting a 22-yard field goal.

CSAA GOLD
Big Rapids 26 Grant 0: The Cardinals shutout the Tigers in a game that only went four minutes into the second quarter before being called due to injury. In that short time period, Big Rapids rushed eight times for 118 yards and three scores, with Cole Haist, Jack Bollman, and Kurt Wilber finding the end zone. Max Bollman scored his first touchdown when he caught a 50-yard touchdown from Haist, who was a perfect 4/4 passing for 117 yards. Grant finished with just 12 yards of total offense in this game. With the win, Big Rapids secures the outright CSAA Gold title with a perfect 5-0 league record. They outscored their opponents 241-19 in league games.
Reed City 55 Newaygo 6: The slide continues for the Lions, who have lost their first seven games of the season for the first time since a winless season back in 2010.
Tri-County 39 Chippewa Hills 12: The Vikings racked up 497 yards of total offense to earn their fourth win of the season. On defense, Tri-County forced three Warriors turnovers. Two of those turnovers were fumble recoveries for touchdowns, with Wilson Sixbury and Jordan Riva scooping up loose footballs for scores. Sixbury also caught two touchdowns in this game from quarterback Vaughn Veltman, while Chase Keller added two rushing scores on the ground.
CSAA SILVER
Kent City 46 Central Montcalm 14: In the de-facto CSAA Silver title game, the Eagles dominated the Hornets to secure the outright league crown. Kent City, now 7-0 on the year, finishes league play with a perfect 4-0 record. After Central Montcalm took an 9-0 lead, the Eagles scored 40 consecutive points to blow this game wide open. Cooper Stinson had a 2-yard touchdown run and a 58-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown.

WMC LAKES
Ludington 32 Whitehall 7: The Orioles secure at least a share of the Lakes title with this win over rival Whitehall. Ludington has outscored their opponents 324-39. This 7-0 start is the program’s best since their 9-0 regular season in 1989. Coach Charlie Gunsell secures his 100th win at Ludington, as his son Cam scores five touchdowns (three rushing, two passing).
Montague 35 Fremont 0: The Wildcats shutout the Packers for their latest win of the year. Cooper Bradley and Eli Petersen each rushed for two touchdowns, while Cole Moss added the fifth score. Moss led the rushing attack with 146 yards, while Petersen (117), Bradley (71) and Fletcher Thommen (35) helped Montague run for 363 yards (7.4 YPC) as a team. Karter Frens rushed for 106 yards in defeat for Fremont.

Orchard View 35 Hart 30: Orchard View has now won four straight contests, their longest winning streak and their largest number of wins in any season since they went a perfect 9-0 in the 2019 regular season.

WMC RIVERS
North Muskegon 36 Ravenna 29: The Norsemen complete an unbeaten Rivers campaign with this win over Ravenna. Since the split of the WMC into these divisions, North Muskegon has won all four WMC Rivers titles. They are a perfect 23-0 in WMC Rivers games all-time.

Freeland 35 Bay City John Glenn 14: The Falcons earn their fourth straight win to move to 6-1 on the season. This game was 35-0 Freeland before the Bobcats scored some late touchdowns. Keenan Cooper was the star for the Falcons, as he found the end zone four times. Cooper rushed for scores of 6, 17 and 38 yards, while also pouncing on a loose football in the end zone for a fumble recovery score. He finished with 18 carries for 200 yards and four total touchdowns. Defensively, Wilson Huckeby had three interceptions for the victorious Falcons.

Gobles 44 Muskegon Heights 18: Gobles got out to a big lead and never looked back in this “Battle of the Tigers”. Six different Gobles players found the end zone in this game, with Nathan Ray pacing the rushing attack with 94 yards. Case Lord added 80 yards on the ground, as the victors rushed for 366 as a team. Muskegon Heights saw TayShaun Robertson-Moody provide the most offensive spark, as he had 75 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

Concord 64 Holgate 20: In a game hosted at Albion College, the ‘Jackets used that crisp playing surface to their advantage. Racking up 544 yards of offense, Concord scored 28 points in each of the first two quarters to quiet Holgate. Gavin Riske threw for two touchdowns, while also rushing for 142 yards and three scores. Trenton Frazer finished with 12 carries for 197 yards and three more rushing scores, while also catching a touchdown pass of 64 yards from Riske.
