GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The girls volleyball season is well underway with many non-conference matches and early season tournaments concluding over the last week. The Grand Rapids area is home to some of the top teams in the state of Michigan and below is a brief look at the teams and players that make volleyball so special.

The week that was….a look back at some bigger matches from the last 7-10 days

  • Lakeshore Invitational
    • FH Northern staked claim to a top-tier ranking as the Huskies took home the prestigious Lakeshore Invitational as they beat the host Buccaneers of Grand Haven in the finals after taking down Jenison in the semifinals.
    • Byron Center picked up a nice win in the Rally on Reeds Lake which was played outdoors as they beat East Grand Rapids
    • Rockford traveled up to Traverse City and won the tournament at TC West while Mona Shores had a nice day going 3-1 with their only loss to the Rams
    • Rockford also went undefeated at the Cornerstone Showcase
