DOUBLE DRIBBLE: GIRLS BASKETBALL QUARTERFINAL RECAP

Quarterfinal

  • Frankenmuth got off to a quick start to defeat Houghton, 52-36. The Eagles controlled much of the game as they improve to 24-2 on the season. They’ll play in the State Semifinal in Division 2 on Thursday against Goodrich. That game is slated for a 5:30 start from the Breslin Center.
  • Hart makes their first trip to the Breslin Center as they pulled off a monumental win over Buchanan, 45-41. The Pirates continue an amazing season by knocking off previously ranked #1 Buchanan. They’ll have a chance to continue their run on Thursday when they take on Hemlock at 2:00 in East Lansing.
  • Kalamazoo Hackett lost a tough battle Adrian Lenawee Christian, 36-49. Alyse Baughman led the Irish with 12 points. Layne Ridderman added 9 points. Hackett finishes an impressive 18-10 on the season.
  • Rockford is Breslin bound again as they knock off Holt, 50-36. Sophomore Anna Wypych and Freshman Sienna Wolfe led the Ram charge with 14 points apiece. Alyssa Wypych added 13 points. Holt was led by Janae Tyler with 17 points. For more on this game, check out the complete recap.
  • West Catholic cruised to a 51-37 win over Holland Christian, securing a spot in the Division 2 Semifinals. The Falcons controlled much of the game as they led 27-14 at the half. Cadence Dykstra (16 points) and Elisha Dykstra (15 points) had big nights for West Catholic. They will take on Lansing Catholic Friday with a late tip of 7:30 at the Breslin Center.
