In Week 1, Fremont’s defense was a high point, as they limited Hart to just one score. In Week 2, the defense again kept the opposition at bay, as they defeated Beaverton 24-7.

Fremont would score the only points of the first quarter, as Kyler DeKuiper’s pass found Justin Dirheimer for a 33-yard score. The second quarter would be more of Fremont offensively, as DeKuiper connected with Owen Hertel for a 10-yard touchdown. This gave Fremont a 12-0 lead heading into the half.

Fremont would come out of the gates firing, as Justin Dirheimer ran for an 8-yard touchdown at the end of the third quarter. Trailing 18-0, Beaverton would finally find the end zone in the third quarter. Their score cut the Fremont lead to just 12, as they still trailed 18-6.

The fourth quarter saw Fremont finish strong, as the Packers found the end zone. Justin Dirheimer rushed for his third score of the day. Fremont’s defense once again proved to be the difference maker in this game, as they held the Beaverton offense to a total of 183 all-purpose yards while also securing two interceptions.

Fremont now moves to 2-0 on the season, and thus far their defense is allowing a stellar 7.5 points against per game. This is the first time that Fremont is 2-0 since 2007. They hand Beaverton their second loss of the campaign. The Beavers will start Jack Pine play next week against Clare.
