The Rangers, riding off the high of their Week 1 successes, took on the Portage Central Mustangs in their final non-conference tune-up. Portage Central, meanwhile, suffered a close defeat to East Lansing. On paper, this had all of the makings of a strong game. In reality, Forest Hills Central set the tone early. They captured a 42-0 victory over the Mustangs.

Justin Osterhouse only attempted six passes in this game, but he completed five. Those completions went for 165 yards and two touchdowns. Ty Hudkins had two catches in this game for 85 yards, one of those being a touchdown. Max Richardson hauled in the other touchdown pass, a 14-yard connection.

Osterhouse added two touchdowns on the ground, as he rushed for thirty-eight yards. JT Hartman had ten carries for the Rangers, and he turned those into 81 yards and two scores of his own. Defensively, FHC was paced by Crandall Quinn (9 tackles) and Reece Rodman (5 tackles).

Now at 2-0 on the season, Forest Hills Central will face Byron Center in their OK White opener next week. Portage Central will begin SMAC conference play next week against Battle Creek Lakeview.
