The Delton-Kellogg Panthers took down the Saugatuck Trailblazers with some late-game heroics. A two-point conversion was the difference in the 15-14 victory.

Vinnie Quick scored on a 3-yard touchdown run in the second quarter, giving Delton-Kellogg a 7-0 lead. Benny Diaz responded for Saugatuck with a 60-yard sprint to the end zone, evening the halftime count at 7-all.

In the fourth quarter, Diaz powered across the goal line once again. His 3-yard carry put Saugatuck ahead by seven. Delton-Kellogg responded with a touchdown run by Corey Moore. Trailing by a point, Head Coach Ryan Bates rolled the dice and went for two. The conversion attempt was successful, giving the Panthers a 15-14 lead they would hold for the remainder of the game.

Delton-Kellogg outgained Saugatuck 282-235. The Panthers had 274 rushing yards in this win. Corey Moore led the way with 55 yards, while Philip Halcomb added 54. Benny Diaz had 116 rushing yards to pace the Trailblazers.

Next week, Delton-Kellogg will take on Allegan. Saugatuck will look to rally against Galesburg-Augusta.
