The Fennville Blackhawks entered Friday’s game with three straight victories, evening their record to 3-3. They tried to improve their record to above .500 for the first time since 2018, but they were unable against Northpointe Christian. The Blackhawks fell 45-26.

Fennville Head Coach Richard Roth stated afterwards that “It was a great game where we were simply just outexecuted. We were in the red zone four times, but three times left with a turnover. That really made the game. Not to take anything away from Northpointe, as they are a darn good football team, but we just have to execute our assignments better”.

Ben Peterson led Fennville, finishing 23/41 passing for 322 yards and four touchdowns. Peterson also had four interceptions. On defense, Peterson had 11 tackles and a fumble recovery.

Tyler Schut finished with 10 catches for 196 yards and a score. Schut added 18 tackles on defense. Corey Callejas had nine tackles on defense, and he scored two touchdowns as a receiver. Jaydon Weimer scored his first varsity touchdown, tallying 107 yards on seven catches.

Next week, Fennville will take on Blanchard Montabella. Northpointe Christian is set to square off against Tri-Unity Christian.
