The South Christian Sailors remain undefeated with their victory over Unity Christian on Friday night. Points were a plenty, with South Christian capturing a 35-20 victory.

The teams exchanged touchdowns in the first quarter. Jake DeHaan and Nate Brinks paired up for South Christian, as the combo set up a 15-yard touchdown. Shortly after, Mitch Tibbe kept the football on a 6-yard score. A conversion by Nolan Vis put the ‘Saders ahead 8-7.

DeHaan pushed South Christian back in front early in the second quarter. He found Seth Ritsema on a 10-yard touchdown toss. Isaac Steinstra evened the count at 14 when he rumbled across the goal line from two yards out. DeHaan’s two-yard quarterback sneak gave South Christian a 21-14 halftime lead.

After a scoreless third quarter, DeHaan pushed out the South Christian lead. His 8-yard touchdown run put the Sailors ahead by 14. Unity Christian would answer as Tibbe found Carter Bylsma for a 10-yard touchdown. DeHaan iced the game with a 37-yard touchdown jaunt.

It was another solid performance for Jake DeHaan. The Sailors’ signal-caller was 22/28 passing for 209 yards and two touchdowns. He added 21 carries for 155 yards and three scores.
