In the final conference match-up for both Kent City and White Cloud, the Eagles sent a statement with their strong performance. They jumped out to a 28-0 halftime lead, a 44-7 third quarter advantage, and ultimately secured a 50-14 victory.

The Eagles scored on their opening possession, a 19-yard touchdown run by Mason Westbrook on a carry up the middle, and they never looked back. Dylan Sutton silenced White Cloud’s first drive with an interception in the end zone, keeping the Indians off the scoreboard.

Mason Westbrook finished this game with 20 carries for 189 yards and a touchdown. Joe VanOeffelen turned 6 carries into 105 yards and three scores. Webb Longcore, who finished with 4 tackles and 1 TFL, also had 64 rushing yards and a touchdown. Kyler Larson completed 4/7 passes for 64 yards and a score, and he added 76 rushing yards and another touchdown. Hayden Carlson caught a pair of Larson’s passes, including one for a touchdown. In total, kent City racked up 498 yards.

On defense, Dylan Sutton had two interceptions, and Carter Milanowski added 4 tackles and 1 TFL. Now 4-2 on the year, Kent City will face Hartford in a non-conference game next week. Hartford is 0-7 on the season, and they have been outscored 224-0, the only team in the State without a point.

White Cloud was led in this game by Mason Ruether, who finished 13/15 passing with a touchdown. Taylor Bode passed for a touchdown as well, in addition to a team-high 92 receiving yards. Alex Cruzan (8 tackles), Austin Cook (7), Wes Penland (6), and Ayden Kailing (5) led the team defensively. The Indians will face White Pigeon next Friday.
