The Kent City Eagles beat the Holton Red Devils in a Friday night shootout, 50-38.

Holton started the game by recovering an onside kick. This set the tone for a track meet, as Holton led 20-16 after twelve minutes. The scoring continued, as Kent City scored three times to take a 36-23 halftime lead. The Eagles pushed the lead to twenty points by outscoring Holton 14-6 in the third quarter. The Red Devils scored in the fourth quarter to get within twelve, but they could not draw closer.

Mason Westbrook paced Kent City with 234 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 29 carries. Kyler Larson completed 3/4 passes, tallying 89 yards and two scores. Larson added 13 carries, 133 yards and two touchdowns on the ground to his totals. Dylan Sutton paced the receiving core with a 68-yard performance that included a touchdown. Defensively, Webb Longcore had two interceptions, while Chase Moreno and Kyle Montarusso each had 8 tackles.

Now 3-2 on the season, Kent City will take on White Cloud on Friday. Holton, 3-3, will face off against Hesperia in their CSAA-Silver finale.
