The Gull Lake Blue Devils snapped their three-game losing skid on Friday, as they shut out Otsego 35-0. It was a dominant performance that saw Gull Lake outgain Otsego 425-167.

Nolan Greenwood was the star of the show for the Blue Devils, as he turned 9 carries into 170 yards and 3 touchdowns. Brenden Stoneburner added the other rushing score, a 29-yard carry to the end zone. As a team, Gull Lake rushed for 338 yards.

Greenwood scored two touchdowns in the first to put the Blue Devils ahead by thirteen. Stoneburner and Greenwood exchanged scores, extending Gull Lake’s lead to 28 points. Silas VanWormer capped off the scoring with an 80-yard strike to Haidyn Garrison. This gave the Blue Devils a 35-point edge, resulting in a running clock throughout the second half.

Silas VanWormer was effective, completing 3/4 passes for 87 yards in the victory. The Gull Lake defense forced three turnovers, all interceptions. Angelo Archie, Brendan Seiler, and Noah Blake all ended this game with an interception.

Now 2-4 on the season, Gull Lake will square off against Lansing Waverly next Friday. Otsego, 1-5 on the year, will face their toughest opponent in Edwardsburg in Week 7.
