The South Christian Sailors extended their winning streak to two games with a convincing victory against Kenowa Hills on Friday night. They had little trouble scoring in a 49-12 game.

Chandler VanSolkema got things started for South Christian, capping off a 7-play touchdown march with a 2-yard touchdown plunge. Andrew Bradley would respond for Kenowa Hills with a 1-yard run, but a missed extra point left the Knights behind by a point.

South Christian answered back with four unanswered touchdowns in the second quarter. Jake DeHaan and VanSolkema paired up for the first score, a 12-yard touchdown pass. Two minutes later, DeHaan used his legs on a 51-yard boot to the end zone. After a Jace DeMann interception, Chandler VanSolkema scored his third touchdown on a 2-yard run. Finally, DeHaan and Jack Schuer connected on a 69-yard touchdown pass, one play after forcing a turnover on downs. This gave the Sailors a commanding 35-6 halftime advantage.

The unanswered scoring run continued in the third and fourth quarter. First, Jake DeHaan used his legs on a 61-yard quarterback keeper. This was the lone score in the third frame. Halfway through the fourth quarter, South Christian recovered a fumble that led to a 29-yard touchdown run by Jake Vermaas. Sutton Tutas and Preston Mull would finally snap the scoring drought with a 190yard touchdown pass on the final play of the game.

Jake DeHaan finished this game 7/12 passing for 153 yards. He added 200 rushing yards on nine carries, and he scored 4 total touchdowns.

South Christian, now 4-2, will take on Forest Hills Eastern next week. Kenowa Hills will look to return to the win column next Friday, as they face Ottawa Hills.
