The coveted “Mitten” trophy is set to be awarded to the State Champions in Football before the end of the calendar year.
The tentative schedule for the 11 man football playoffs is set to resume on Tuesday and Wednesday December 15th and 16th. These games are the Regional Finals. The Semi-Finals would then be played on Monday and Tuesday December 21st and 22nd. The State Finals would then be played on Monday and Tuesday December 28th and 29th.
While the Finals will again be played at Ford Field, the games leading up to the Finals will be played at the site of the school that has accumulated the most playoff points. Typically the games would have been played at a neutral site somewhere geographically located between the two competing schools. 2020 has been anything but typical, and the playoffs reflect it too.

We have been following the Rockford Rams, East Grand Rapids Pioneers, South Christian Sailors, and the Freeland Falcons all year and will continue to cover them through their playoff games.
