The 2020 fall sports season has been one for the ages. There have been competitive games on the field, but the schedule changes and COVID delays of seasons have left many across the state anxious to return to play. After a long wait, we will finally get a chance to conclude the fall 2020 season.

Teams are allowed to resume practice on Monday, December 21, and competition will start following the Christmas holiday.

On Saturday January 2, 11-man regionals and 8-man semifinals will take place. The 8-man championships and the 11-man semifinals will then take place on Saturday January 9. The 11-man finals will take place the weekend of January 15-16. The regionals and semifinals will take place at home sites, while the championship sites will be announced soon.

The following teams in our coverage area are still alive in the playoffs:

Division 1–Rockford will host Saline

Division 2–Mona Shores will travel to East Lansing

Division 3–East Grand Rapids will travel to Muskegon

Division 4–Forest Hills Eastern will travel to Cadillac

Division 4–South Christian will travel to Edwardsburg

Division 5–Freeland will travel to Reed City

Division 5–Grand Rapids Catholic Central will host Oakridge

Division 6–Montague will host Montrose

8-Man Division 1–Martin will travel to Adrian Lenawee Christian

 

Girls Volleyball will resume competition January 7, while Girls Swimming & Diving will take place January 15-16. The MHSAA Council will reconvene next Tuesday (December 22) to discuss winter sports plans. At this time, spring sports are planning on scheduling games as normal.
