The Montague Wildcats entered Friday night with a perfect 3-0 record. They left the contest with the same amount of defeats in the loss column, zero. They scored early and often in a 63-0 rout of Shelby.

Drew Collins had a phenomenal game for Montague, as the Wildcats’ quarterback finished the night 11/17 for 205 yards and four touchdowns. He also added 25 yards on the ground. He threw two touchdowns in the first quarter, and two more in the second quarter.

This performance earns him the honor of Redi Rental Wildcat of the Night.

The remaining five touchdowns were all scored on the ground in this game. Zach Nelson led the way on the ground for Montague with five carries for sixty-five yards and two touchdowns. Sam Smith also scored twice, as he turned six carries into fifty-five yards.

Andrew Kooi, who was Montague’s leading receiver with ninety-eight yards and two touchdown catches, rushed for the other touchdown in this game. Tugg Nichols and Owen Petersen joined Kooi with receiving touchdowns.

This game was never in doubt, as the running clock was in effect early in this contest. The Wildcats’ defense held Shelby to just eleven total yards of offense, ten of which came through the air.

Shelby slides to 0-4 after this defeat, and the Tigers have been unable to get it going. They have yet to score a point on offense, and their defense has allowed 224. They will look to right the ship against Hart, who is also 0-4 and has only scored 24 points this fall.

Montague now sits at 4-0 on the year, and they have outscored their opponents 208-12 in those victories. They will now take on Whitehall next week in a battle of unbeatens.
