Girls District Finals are set, Tri-County IN East Kentwood OUT, wait what?

Wednesday night, February 28th, had several teams battling for a chance to play for a district title on Friday. Michigan Sports Radio had two sets of broadcasters calling games. From Fremont the Girls Class B District 60 had Dave Princer and Maisy Nielsen on the call. Game one of the the night saw Sparta(10-11) win over Fremont(11-11) spoiling the oppertunity for the Packers to play in their own gym for a District Championship. Sparta will move on to play Friday night at 7pm. The Tri-County Vikings will be their foe. The Vikings(14-8) were able to defeat the Grant Tigers(6-15)...

Regular season Epic battle, as the Eagles and Wolverines prepare for the post season

As the regular season winds down, two of the areas best teams over the past few seasons matched up for what would turn out to be an incredible game. The Quest Center on the campus of Grand Rapids Christian was the site. The visiting Godwin Wolverines would bring their 18-1 overall record in with the plan of heading into next weeks Class B District 57 with only one loss. Vikings over the Lions, Pioneers sting the Jackets, Falcons stay perfect (21-0)

The Girls State Champions will be crowned this year at the Van Noord Arena on the Campus of Calvin College. The State Semifinals and Finals that are normally played at the Breslin Center have been relocated due to scheduling issues in East Lansing. Opening round of girls district basketball playoffs began on Monday night. Michigan Sports Radio covered 3 of the games. The East Grand Rapids Pioneers prevailed over the Greenville Yellow Jackets by a final score of 46-27. The loss gives the Jackets a final record of 9-12. Wolves and Eagles battle for the GOLD

The OK Gold title lead was up for grabs tonight as the Wolves of Wyoming High School hosted the Eagles from Grand Rapids Christian. The stage was set for the two best teams in the confrence on Hall of Fame night in Wyoming. The Wyoming Hall of Fame has 6 new members including Steve Newman, Troy Mast, Mike Sturm, Dana Peuler Conklin, Oogie Lamar, as well as Michigan Sports Radios’ own Crysta Paganelli’s aunt, Christy Jaklinski Paganelli.
