Week 7 got off to a hot start for the Beavers of Harper Creek. KeyShaun Matthews started the night off with an 8-yard-touchdown run to give Harper Creek a 6-0 lead over Pennfield. The Panthers would respond with a Kaidan Guthrie 4-yard-touchdown run to take the lead. Later in the second quarter, KeyShaun Matthews would find the endzone again with his second score of the night, this time from 20 yards out. The Beavers would take a 12-7 lead into the half. KeyShaun Matthews would find the endzone for the third time of the night, with the lone score in the third to take a 18-7 lead. Late in the fourth Jesus Macedo put the finishing touches with a 10-yard passing score to Brayden Bess on a 24-14 win for the Beavers.
The night belonged to KeyShaun Matthews, who had 18 carries for 195 yards and a hat-trick of touchdowns, while averaging 10.8 yards per carry. Jesus Macedo completed 5 passes for 62 yards and a touchdown. Brayden Bess had one catch for 10 yards and a score.
Harper Creek will look to capitalize off tonight next week at home against Coldwater, while Pennfield will search for their first victory of the year against Lumen Christi.
