Shelby’s interior offense stepped up in the second half, allowing them to close the gap. Aidan Poling had 19 points, 5 rebounds and 2 steals for Holton, while Griffin Fraass scored 7 to lead Shelby.

Muskegon 50 Reeths-Puffer 48: The Big Reds edged out the Rockets in overtime in an extremely exciting basketball game. The two teams were tied at halftime, and neither team held more than a three-point lead at the end of any quarter. In overtime, Muskegon outscored Puffer 6-4. Sophia Hekkema had 21 points and 10 rebounds to lead Puffer.
Muskegon Catholic Central 59 Manistee 41: The Crusaders move to 2-1 in Lakes 8 play with Tuesday’s win over Manistee. They led after every quarter, and had four girls finish in double figures: McKenna Gentry (15), Erin LaVigne (14), Katherine Rauch (13) and Grace Staniforth (11).
Newaygo 64 Reed City 12: The Lions remain perfect, moving to 6-0 with a throttling of Reed City. Newaygo shot 42% from the field, and they took advantage of a depleted Coyotes lineup. Jaxi Long paced Newaygo with 17 points, 5 assists and 4 rebounds, while Anna Brummel added 16 points with four three-pointers.

On the contrary, Unity Christian was 7/19 from three. Jennifer Judge led Spring Lake with 10 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals, while Haley Bremer (17) and Addison Nienhuis (12) finished in double figures for Unity.
Watervliet 61 Fennville 15: The Panthers built a 31-4 halftime lead, and they cruised to a victory in the second half. Madisynn Jefferson led the way with 5 points for Fennville, who had their largest scoring quarter in the final frame.

Karleigh Jeffries led the way with 13 points and 8 rebounds, while Greta Hosticka added 9 points, 9 rebounds and 6 steals. Shelby, who shot 21% from the field in the game, was led by Kendall Zoulek with 7 points.
