It’s another hoops on MSR Monday Rebound – As we debut another week of the MSR RE/MAX United Power Poll for girls and boys basketball and also preview some of the coming matchups this Tuesday (and Wednesday) on MSR!
RE/MAX United Power Polls – 1/27
BOYS
BOYS POLL NOTES
Status Quo – The main note of the week, was that all of the top competitors in the area won the games they were expected to and any losses (like Northview in 4OT vs Lima Senior (Ohio)) were still impressive losses and there was no wide-scale changeĀ this week.
Bucs Sail In – Grand Haven has made their first appearance back in the top 10 for 2025 after Grant lost for the first time this year and moved out of the top 10 – Greenville remains the lone unbeaten team in our coverage area. Grand Haven sits at 10-3, notably holding a win Head-to-Head vs GR Christian, who just missed out on being the 10th team this week.
GIRLS
GIRLS POLL NOTES
Rams Rock Solid – Just like on the boys side of the draw, the Rockford girls remain in the top spot, they won their 2 games vs Byron Center and West Ottawa by a combined score of 123-26 this week.
GRCC on the Move – The middle part of the rankings remain in massive flux, and with a H2H win over former top-5 ranked FHN, the GRCC girls have slid into the top 5 themselves, all as HC moved to 4 as they now are 11-1 on the season.
2nd half Change Coming? – Teams like East Kentwood or Hudsonville that currently sit just above or under .500, but have played incredibly difficult schedules have made this poll difficult each week, watch for them to have a chance to put together some wins and shake up the order in the next few weeks. Spots 4-10 have already chosen to be in flux week-to-week every week.
TUESDAY on MSR PREVIEW
(HUGE Slate, by the way)
GRCC vs South Christian – Girls + Boys: Not much needs to be said here, rivals that will give us not one, but two, top 10 matchups from the power poll – Get ready to see some things get shaken up, the winner from each side may be in perfect position to move to the top 5 next week.
Grandville vs GR Christian – Boys: GR Christian has moved just to the outside of the top 10 and with a win Saturday over Reeths Puffer, Grandville was able to snap a losing streak and now the ‘Dawgs will host the Eagles – as they looks to regain some of the early-season form that captured wins over teams like top 10 Byron Center.
FHC vs Hudsonville – Boys: A lot of great talent will be on the floor here as FHC looks to regain some of their early season form, as one of the teams bets over defensive and shooting teams vs the Eagles who can do a little but of everything, and do it with great length.
Plus – As always – Be sure to check in on game day to see what games are added late to the schedule!
BONUS – WEDNESDAY
Holland Christian vs Unity Christian: A Re-scheduled broadcast from last week 0- as #2 Unity Christian will take on Holland Christian at the Holland Civic Center. The GAME NIGHT crew is planning to be there with radio coverage.
