It was a ginormous week in the MHSAA football season, especially here in West Michigan. Conference championship shares were on the line, teams were jockeying for playoff berths, and the excitement was jam packed. A complete list of scores and links to MSR recaps can be found below!

Big Rapids 48 Morley Stanwood 0: The Cardinals blanked Morley Stanwood to improve to 7-1 on the season. This is the second straight year in which the Cardinals have won seven games. Riley Vennix rushed 8 times for 137 yards and two scores, while Garrett Foster added two rushing touchdowns on five carries. Should Big Rapids secure one more victory next week against Alma, it will be the most wins in the regular seasons for the Cardinals since 2012.

Cedar Springs 35 Kenowa Hills 21: The Red Hawks entered Friday at 3-4, facing a must-win against Kenowa. A fast start saw Cedar Springs jump ahead 28-7 before holding on for a two-score victory. Three different Cedar Springs ball carriers eclipsed 100 yards on the night: Marek Olenak (109), Dylan Lafontsee (104) and Kaide Dreyer (102). Lafontsee paced the way with two rushing scores, while Dreyer, Olenak and Bryce Luevano added one each.

Forest Hills Central 37 Lowell 12: The Rangers bested the Red Arrows to keep their OK White title hopes alive. Mason McDonald completed 4/8 passes for just 43 yards, but three of those completions went for scores. He added 214 rushing yards on 18 carries and a touchdown. JT Hartman finished with 19 carries, 133 rushing yards and two scores. Brady Drueke paced the defense with 7 tackles.

Forest Hills Eastern 36 Middleville 30: The Hawks and Trojans played in an unexpected thriller on Friday night. These two exchanged scores throughout, with Middleville holding a 30-22 halftime advantage. A 25-yard Max Ferrick carry brought the game to even early in the third quarter, and a 1-yard plunge across the goal line by Preston Hoexum allowed the Hawks to win it in the fourth. In defeat, TK outgained FHE 350-258 with 304 yards on the ground. Drake Snyder paced the Trojans with 87 rushing yards, while Ethan Bonnema (76) and Brody Wiersma (75) added strong efforts. Preston Hoexum led FHE with 129 rushing yards, as the Hawks gained all 258 of their yards on the ground.

Ludington 41 Orchard View 14: The Orioles secured a win by outgaining OV 449-211. Two Cardinals fumbles were pivotal in this game. Cam Gunsell finished 7/9 passing for Ludington, tallying 100 yards. He added 231 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 19 carries.

Montague 24 Manistee 22

Muskegon 51 Union 6: The Big Reds blitzed the Red Hawks in a conference battle on Friday. Muskegon scored the first 51 points in this game, all in the first half of play. Destin Piggee had just four carries but turned those into 154 rushing yards and a score. Jakob Price found the end zone twice for the victors, racking up 88 yards on the ground.

Muskegon Catholic Central 20 Centreville 0: The Crusaders had a trio of second half touchdown runs to secure a victory over the Bulldogs. Vince Szymanski had two touchdown runs, carries of 6 and 11 yards, finishing the night with 41 rushing yards on 8 carries. Bryan Convertini added a 1 yard touchdown run, ending his night with 75 rushing yards on 15 carries. MCC now sits at 5-3 heading into their season finale next week against Traverse City St. Francis.

Wayland 56 Ottawa Hills 0: The Wildcats used an explosive first half to improve their record to 5-3.  Wayland attempted just one pass, which was completed for a 23-yard touchdown from Brady Cassini to Cameron Bogart. Otherwise, the victors tallied 290 rushing yards and six scores on 44 carries.

Concord 38 Britton Deerfield 16: The ‘Jackets cruised past the Patriots on Friday night. Concord scored the first 32 points in this game, despite being outgained 368-345 for the  entire game. Three different Concord platers scraped togethrer a pair of touchdowns: Collin Thompson, Gavin Riske and Tylend Allen.

Maple Valley 54 Bangor 6: The Lions saw an offensive explosion in their win over Bangor. After a slow first quarter with just one score, Maple Valley put a 38-spot on the second quarter scoreboard. Ayden Wilkes was the feature player in this win, turning 10 carries into 129 rushing yards and three scores. Andrew Sheperd added two additional rushing touchdowns for the victors, who outgained Bangor 443-83.
