The Coopersville Broncos kept their offensive success streak intact on Friday. In all six instances they have cleared the 20-point threshold, they have been able to win the ball game. This week, their 34-22 victory over Holland Christian gave the Broncos their third straight 6-win regular season.
After a scoreless first quarter, the Broncos were able to take control in the second frame. Isaac LeMieux started the scoring with a 2-yard touchdown run. Quarterback Beau Harris used his legs for an 8-yard touchdown carry giving Coopersville a 13-0 halftime lead.
The Broncos would score the next 21 straight points to take a 34-0 lead with 11:53 to play. Beau Harris used his legs for two more scores, runs of 5 and 30 yards. LeMieux returned to the end zone as well with a 26-yard burst.
The Maroons got three scores in the final quarter to draw within twelve, but could not get closer.
At 6-2, Coopersville is in a strong position to be in the postseason. They can better their standing with a win next week against Allendale. Holland Christian now sits at 3-5 on the year. They will take on Unity Christian in the regular season finale.
