The Coopersville Broncos were able to secure their second straight victory, besting Hamilton in a 42-6 rout.

Isaac Lemieux got the Broncs’ started with a 6-yard touchdown run. Three minutes later, Beau Harris found Brooks Hadden for a 47-yard touchdown strike. Coopersville would lead 21-0 after the opening frame when Lemieux returned to the end zone from 1 yard out.

Lemieux continued his hot start in the second quarter with a pair of touchdowns. First, he powered past the Hawkeyes defense for a 15-yard touchdown run. With 26 seconds left before half, he hauled in a pass for a 32-yard score. Hamilton would not go into halftime without their own score, as sandwiched in between these scores was a Justin McIllwain touchdown run.

In the second half, there was just one score. Early in the fourth quarter, Beau Harris used his legs for a short quarterback keeper. This score moved the game to its final 36-point margin.

Coopersville now sits at 4-2 on the season. They appear to be one of the area’s best teams, with those two losses by a combined four points. Next week, the Broncos will face Fruitport. Hamilton slides to 4-2 with this loss. They have a tough finish to the year with games against Unity, West Catholic and Spring Lake as they chase their first winning season since 2016.
