The Muskegon Catholic Central Crusaders began their Division 6 playoff journey against Kent City. After a slow start, MCC found their groove. They were able to succeed in all facets of the game on their way to a 42-14 victory.
In the first quarter, there was just one touchdown run. Bryan Convertini broke free for a 24-yard score late in the first quarter. The scoring would remain that way until Convertini returned to the end zone with a 13-yard touchdown carry.
Kent City would draw closer on a touchdown pass to Ari Baker. Before the first half drew to an end, Convertini returned to the end zone for a third time with a 5-yard keeper.
Coming out of the locker room, it was business as usual for MCC. First, Convertini found an open touchdown pass. Next, David Hill used his craftiness to find the end zone on a 26-yard carry.
Kent City got a fourth quarter touchdown, but it was far too late.
Convertini led all runners with 141 yards for the victors. David Hill added 112.
Next week, Muskegon Catholic Central will square off with Reed City.
