Central looked to remain unblemished in conference play against inner city rival Lakeview. DeVoine Newton Jr. would start the scoring off with two passing touchdowns to Ronnie Blankenship from 15 yards out and Jessethan Coffey from 25 yards out. That would be the only scoring for the first half as the Bearcats would take a 14-0 lead to the break. DeVoine Newton would find the endzone through the air again with an 80-yard strike to respond to a Lakeview score. DeVoine Newton would throw for two more touchdowns in the fourth to give the Bearcats a 33-12 victory.
It was a monster game for DeVoine Newton, he threw for 5 touchdowns and 427 yards on 15 completions. Jessethan Coffey had 6 catches for 83 yards and a touchdown. Ronnie Blankenship would have two catches for 71 yards and two scores.
Central will host St. Joseph for all the glory in the conference, while Lakeview will take on Kalamazoo Central.
