The Byron Center Bulldogs welcomed Greenville to town for their fifth game of the 2022 campaign. An early run gave the hosts more than enough points to capture a victory, a 45-7 defeat.

Just one minute into the action, Hunter Schichtel aired it out and found Blake Ottow for a 38-yard touchdown pass. On their next drive, Jason Sevigny carried the football across the goal line to give Byron Center a 13-0 lead.

The second quarter saw two more Byron Center touchdowns to pad the lead. Schichtel used his legs for a 1-yard power run across the goal line. Later in the frame, Blake Ottow carried the football for a six yard score. The Bulldogs went to halftime ahead 26-0.

In the third quarter, Byron Center continued to roll. Schichtel returned to the air, as the signal-caller found Brady Breit for an 8-yard touchdown toss. Landon Tungate would wrap up the third quarter with an 8-yard run. Byron Center enacted the running clock, ahead 39-0.

Greenville would get on the scoreboard in the fourth quarter, as Case Johnson broke free for a 23-yard touchdown run. Tungate would wrap up the night with his second touchdown carry.

Byron Center outgained Greenville 421-139 in this game. The Bulldogs rushed for 316 yards as a team. Hunter Schichtel was 5/8 passing for 105 yards, and added 131 yards rushing on 16 carries. Landon Tungate had just nine carries, but racked up 103 yards.

Kam Cooper paced Greenville with 9 carries for 51 yards. Charlie Braman had 6 tackles for Greenville.

Next week, Byron Center (3-2) will take on East Grand Rapids. Greenville (1-4) will square off with Grand Rapids Christian.
