It was all gas and no brakes Friday night for the Hastings Saxons. The scoring started for the Saxons with a 41-yard rushing touchdown from Isiah Wilson early in the first quarter. A couple minutes later, Lanny Teunessen ran for a 37-yard touchdown. Robby Slaughter followed the score up with his own score from 13 yards to put the Saxons up 24-0 at the end of the first.

A pair of Robby Slaughter touchdowns gave the Saxons a 39-0 lead at the break. Gerald Miller added a score in the fourth to finish the game with 46-0 blowout for Hastings.

The night belonged to the trio of running backs for Hastings. The leader of the pack was Robby Slaughter who had 153 yards on 10 carries and 3 touchdowns, as well as two extra-points. Isiah Wilson wasn’t far behind, with 72 yards on 4 attempts and a touchdown. Hastings ran for an impressive 383 yards as a team.

Hastings will look to move to 4-1 on the season next Saturday at Harper Creek, while Coldwater will search for their first victory of the season against Lumen Christi.
