The Calvin Christian Squires took on the Parkway Christian Eagles in a final non-conference tune-up. Strong play carried the Squires to their third straight victory on the season, a 32-20 victory.
Paul Bouma IV led the way with 5 passing touchdowns. The Squires’ senior signal-caller now has 11 on the season. Matt Elderkin was his primary target, hauling in four of those five scoring throws. The fifth passing score went to James Daniels.
Raine Daniels was the star of the Calvin Christian defense, as he secured two pivotal interceptions.
This was the second straight season that Calvin Christian has defeated Parkway Christian. Last fall, the 25-7 Squires victory was their lone win.
Calvin Christian is 3-0 for the first time since 2011. That season, the Squires won their first six contests before finishing the season at 8-2.
This week, Calvin Christian will have their hands full with the Belding Black Knights. Belding is also 3-0, averaging 57 points per game.
