The West Ottawa Panthers opened their new stadium on Thursday night in front of a packed house. They took care of Portage Northern, 21-10, to improve to 2-0. This is the first time since 2018, the last season they had recorded a victory, that West Ottawa has begun 2-0.
Cole Tulgetske was 6/15 passing, but he threw for two touchdowns. Allen Payne and Matt Harrison were open receivers for his touchdown scores. Ryan Stam rounded out the West Ottawa scoring with a rushing touchdown.
Next week, West Ottawa will start the OK Red slate against Rockford. Portage Northern (1-1) will face Battle Creek Central in their SMAC starter.
