After a tough loss in Week 1 to crosstown rival Muskegon Catholic Central, North Muskegon was looking to rebound as they faced Orchard View. The Norsemen did not hold back, as they cruised to a 55-0 victory over the Cardinals.

North Muskegon scored just six points in the first quarter, but they added sixteen in the second. Ahead 28-0 after the third frame, they added 27 points in the final twelve minutes.

James Young finished 15/23 passing for 232 yards and five touchdowns. He found Ben Meyers twice for scores (96 total yards). TJ Byard, who finished with 89 yards, also caught two scores. Carsen Moat was the recipient of the fifth touchdown pass, a four-yard toss.

August Gerardi had 39 rushing yards on five carries. Gerardi added two scores. In addition to his two receiving scores, Ben Meyers added 37 yards and a rushing touchdown.

North Muskegon outgained Orchard View 317-144 in this victory. The 1-1 Norsemen will face Mason County Central in next week’s WMC-Rivers opener. Orchard View, who is now 0-2, will face Montague in their WMC-Lakes debut.
