In week 1, Manistee saw their squad exit with a victory, tallying 54 offensive points. Week 2 was no different, as Manistee comfortably escaped with the victory over Mason County Central, 27-6.

It would be the Spartans however, that would open up the scoring in this game. Will Chye would find Kaidan Cole in the end zone to make the game 6-0 in favor of MCC. Manistee would answer within the quarter, finding the end zone on a 3-yard run to take the lead 7-6.

The second quarter would see both defenses stand tall, keeping the game at 7-6 in favor of Manistee heading into the locker room. Manistee would come out firing in the second half, adding two touchdowns on the ground. Entering the fourth quarter up 20-6, Manistee would add yet another rushing touchdown to secure the final score of the ball game.

Manistee controlled the ground attack all game long, as Nick Hornkohl rushed for 118 yards and a score. Kaden Kott would also add north of 100 yards and 2 scores. Manistee improves to 2-0 on the season, while Mason County Central starts 0-2. Next week, Manistee will face Oakridge in their WMC Lakes debut. Mason County Central will square off with North Muskegon.
