The Unity Christian’ Saders began their championship march on Friday night, absolutely shredding the Hawks of Forest Hills Eastern, 67-0.

Unity Christian scored 9 times in 10 drives during this game, with a fumble in the second quarter limiting the perfect day. Cam Chandler (51 yards) and Drew Chandler (3 yards and 37 yards) got things started with three total touchdowns. Toss in three conversions, and it was 24-0 Unity Christian twelve minutes in.

Abe Rappuhn joined the scoring barrage with a touchdown in the second quarter. Cam and Drew each scored again to give them a 46-0 halftime advantage. Though the running clock was in effect, Unity Christian still managed to find the end zone three more times. Ethan VanOtterloo and Nate Beute each scored on short touchdown runs. Noland Schuitema added a fourth quarter score to wrap the offense for both sides.

The ‘Saders rushed for 447 net yards as a team. Abe Rappuhn led the way 171 rushing yards, then Cam Chandler (74) and Micah Bush (56 yards) contributed strong performances individually.

Unity Christian will now face Grand Rapids Christian in the District Finals. The Eagles won 48-24 over Spring Lake.
