The Ludington Orioles took on the Morley-Stanwood Mohawks in a non-league battle on Friday night. Ludington had been playing better football as of late, and that continued in their eighth contest. The offense got 35 points on the board, while the defense yielded just one touchdown in a 35-6 victory.

In the first quarter, Trey Forfinski helped the Orioles create a strong lead. The crafty signal-caller used his legs to score a pair of touchdowns, on runs of 1 and 15 yards. This gave Ludington a 14-0 edge.

The second quarter saw more scoring by Ludington. Aidan Gilchrist was given the ball on a handoff, and the slotback ran right past the Mohawk defenders for a 40-yard touchdown. With thirty seconds left in the half, Forfinski found Gilchrist on a 45-yard touchdown that had a remarkable snag by Gilchrist. Miles Wilson improved to 4/4 on extra points, and the Orioles led 28-0 at the break.

In the third quarter, Ludington scored on a 5-yard touchdown pass from Trey Forfinski to Nathan Gilchrist. This put the running clock in effect with a 35-0 lead. With thirty-four seconds left in the ball game, Morley-Stanwood prevented the shutout with a late score. Dawson Olsen found Crue Woolworth on a halfback pass that went 41 yards for a score.

Trey Forfinski led Ludington in this game, completing 6/9 passes for 134 yards and two touchdowns. Forfinski had 8 carries for 70 yards and the two extra touchdowns.

In Week 9, the Orioles will battle with North Muskegon. Morley-Stanwood will take on Beal City in their finale.
