The St Louis Sharks travelled to Ithaca on Friday night, as the ‘Jackets had their Homecoming game. First place in the TVC-West II was also on the line, as both teams were 2-0 in league play. After four quarters of play, Ithaca stands alone atop the division, a 58-13 victory.
This game was close for the opening two quarters. Ithaca scored the only touchdown of the opening quarter, taking a 6-0 lead. In the second quarter, the offenses picked up, but Ithaca maintained a 26-14 advantage. The second half was all ‘Jackets, as they outscored the Sharks 32-0.
Ignatius Jackson led the St Louis offense with 131 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries. Ben Dousuah turned 10 carries into 36 yards and a rushing score. Rafael Orta-Vazquez booted a successful extra point.
Ithaca was led by Bronson Bupp, who tallied seven total touchdowns. He rushed for 218 yards and 5 scores on 21 carries, and he was 12/16 passing for 171 yards and two touchdowns. Jackson Conn and Noah Risner added rushing touchdowns. Chad Pratt and Ethan Hull hauled in the two passing touchdowns.
With this win, Ithaca is now on a four-game winning streak, moving their overall record to 4-2. They conclude TVC-West II play next week against Saginaw Michigan Lutheran Seminary. St Louis slides to 4-2 with their defeat. They also finalize league play against Saginaw Nouvel.
