The Bridgman Bees have continued their rise this season, as the defending 8-Man Division 0 State Champions are unbeaten through five games. Their latest conquest came in a 73-0 rout of the Defenders of Tri-Unity Christian.
In the opening frame, Bridgman’s offense was electric. The Bees racked up 52 points in the first twelve minutes. They would then add seven points in each of the final three quarters.
Reid Haskins, fresh off a phenomenal six-touchdown effort against Mendon, would deliver four touchdowns in this rout. Haskins rushed for 131 yards and two scores, and he completed two passes for 25 yards and two touchdowns. On defense, Haskins added 8 tackles.
Jayce Warren had a monster night of his own, contributing in all facets of the game. He caught both of Haskins’ pass, scoring a pair of touchdowns. He also added 123 punt return yards, including one return for a score. An additional scoring play for Warren came on a kickoff return that he brought 77 yards to the end zone. Finally, on defense, he had three tackles for loss and a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown.
Nolan Staniszewski led all Bridgman Bees with 15 tackles on defense. Bridgman has allowed just 22 points in five games, pitching three consecutive shutouts. In their 5-0 campaign, they have outscored their opponents 284-22, an average of 56.8-4.4.
SWMFL-II play continues next week, as they take on St Joe Lake Michigan Catholic. The Lakers are 0-5, having been outscored 36-325. The conference foes have one common opponent, New Buffalo. Bridgman defeated the Bison 55-14, while SJLMC lost 82-12.
