The Coopersville Broncos and the Allendale Falcons met up on Friday in an OK Blue showdown. This game was a defensive struggle, but rather one-sided, as Coopersville won 24-6.
In the first quarter, the Broncos scored first. Colton Bosch fired a 12-yard bullet to Ryan Serba, giving the team a 7-0 advantage. This lead would grow in the second quarter, when the Broncos booted a field goal of 25 yards through the uprights.
In the third and fourth quarter, both teams came to life. Coopersville struck first with another pass from Colton Bosch to Serba, though this time it went for 67 yards. As for the fourth quarter, Bosch fired a score to Nash Merkins, who ran unencumbered to the end zone.
Allendale was able to muster some late points together, as Tyler Spark slung a pass to Matt Jozwiak. This left Allendale behind 17 points, a margin too large to overcome.
Tim Allen led Coopersville with 76 rushing yards. Colton Bosch finished 13/24 for 254 and 2 touchdowns. Ryan Serba caught six of those passes to finish with 193 receiving yards.
Next week, Coopersville (5-0) will be ready for a huge showdown with fellow unbeaten West Catholic. Allendale has a much more navigable second half, and that starts on Friday against Holland Christian.
