This week, we saw some great action across the MSR coverage region. Check out what games we covered below, and we also have a schedule of this week’s action!

Caledonia (8-8)

The Caledonia Fighting Scots had two games this week, and they lost the pair. On Tuesday, they went to West Ottawa and were knocked off by the Panthers in a 61-51 game. Three days later, they hit the road again to face off against the Grand Haven Bucs. This was a back and forth game that saw Caledonia leading after the third quarter, and they maintained the lead into the final seconds of the game. With 3.2 seconds to play, Grand Haven’s Drew Sinke hit a game-winning three-pointer to give Grand Haven the 61-59 win. This week, OK Red play will conclude for Caledonia. They host 1-15 Grandville on Tuesday, and then they will host 9-8 Kentwood on Friday night.

Central Montcalm (12-4)

The Hornets had a big week, winning both of their contests. On Tuesday night, they lead from start to finish in a road game against Big Rapids, a 54-42 win. Trenton Shaffer had a game-high 17 points, while Gunner Hill chipped in 15. On Friday night, Central Montcalm went to Chippewa Hills and took down a tough Warriors team in a 48-40 contest. Some big baskets and key defensive stops down the stretch carried the Hornets to a key victory. Hill led the way with 15 points, while Shaffer added 14. This week, the Hornets host Reed City on Tuesday, and they visit Tri-County on Friday night.

Forest Hills Central (13-4)

The Rangers started their week against Ottawa Hills, and they led a large portion of this game. In their 74-57 win over the Bengals, Jimmy Scholler led the team with 20 points. Mitch Wilkinson had 15 points, while Chris Battiste, George Hatchett, and Jonah Spates all finished with 8 points. On Friday night, the Rangers had a chance to win the league title outright with a victory over rival Forest Hills Northern. In this game, FHC led after three quarters by eight points. The Huskies clawed back, erasing a five-point deficit in the game’s final minute. A big three-pointer by FHN’s Trinidad Chambliss gave the Huskies the 54-50 over the Rangers, creating a tie in the loss column in the OK White Standings. League play wraps up for FHC this week with a Friday game against Northview.

Grand Rapids Catholic Central (15-2)

The Cougars only had one game this week, an OK Blue battle at home against Sparta. In the first regular season matchup, it was 80-47 in favor of the Cougars. This game was more of the same, as GRCC was able to emerge victorious by the score of 81-55. It was a ceremonious occasion on Friday night, as they celebrated both Senior Day and the 2019 Division 4 State Championship Football team. Mykel Bingham led the way with 18 points. The victory gave the Cougars at least a share of the OK Blue title, as they maintain a two-game lead over Allendale with two games to play. Next week, the Cougars will finish their OK Blue slate with a home game against Spring Lake on Tuesday, and then a road trip to Comstock Park on Friday.

Rockford (6-12)

This week was a tough road doubleheader for Rockford, as they faced East Kentwood and Hudsonville on the road. In Tuesday’s game, they took the Falcons to overtime before falling 63-54. Friday night was more of the same, as they gave the best team in the area a great fight for a while. Hudsonville prevailed in this game however, with a 61-42 victory. This week, the Rams have one game. They will host West Ottawa on Friday night in their OK Red finale.
