Montague blanked Fremont 20-0 in their matchup this week. Chase Gowell had a 100% completion percentage in this one, as he ended the night 8-8 for 57 yards and a touchdown through the air. Austin Cook would record both of the remaining touchdowns for Montague on the ground, as he finished his night with 46 yards and two touchdowns.
The Montague defense was absolutely on top of their game tonight, as not only did they shut out Fremont, but they also recorded three interceptions. Montague dominated this ball game and will look to keep the momentum rolling next week as they enter the end of the regular season.
Montague posted its first shutout of the season, and the first since October 1 of last season against Shelby. Next week, Montague will take on Manistee in WMC Lakes play, trying to build on their 3-4 record. Fremont slides to 4-3 on the season. They will face Whitehall next Friday.
