The Forest Hills Central Rangers and Forest Hills Northern Huskies squared off on Friday at FHN, an OK White rivalry battle. The Huskies struck first, but thirty-five unanswered points gave the Rangers a commanding victory in the series, 35-7.
Curt Andrews scored the Huskies’ lone touchdown, a 2-yard carry midway through the opening quarter. Three minutes later, FHC evened the score with a 25-yard touchdown run by JT Hartman.
In the second quarter, the Rangers extended their lead on the strong play of Hunter Robinson. Three minutes into the frame, Robinson found Connor Milton on a 24-yard touchdown strike. Before halftime, Robinson used his legs on a two-yard touchdown plunge. This gave the Rangers a 21-7 lead.
After the break, FHC extended the final count. JT Hartman scored his second touchdown, a 2-yard plunge. Three minutes later, Robinson and Jacob Bonnett paired up on a 45-yard touchdown toss.
Forest Hills Central outgained FHN 291-191. It was a balanced attack for the Rangers, who passed for 129 yards and rushed for 162. Hunter Robinson was 5/8 passing, while JT Hartman led the Rangers with 64 rushing yards.
Next week, FHC will square off with Byron Center. Forest Hills Northern will look to snap their two-game skid against Grand Rapids Christian.
