The tournament rolls on to it’s second week for boys basketball in the state of Michigan – and along with the start of the girls tourney, we have a beyond packed week of action coming your this week on Michigan Sports Radio!

Let’s take a look at some of the big-time regions that we will be presenting live audio coverage of this week (Again, per MHSAA regulations tournament coverage is audio-only – But, MSR will be your exclusive home to be able to catch many of these big games!)

DIVISION 1

Region 1 – ROCKFORD: The MSR Rockford crew will be making the trip up to Lake City on Tuesday (and likely Frida) as the state-title contending Rams will look to follow up their big District championship over Muskegon last Friday with a regional title and revenge for last year’s loss in this stage of the ‘dance’.

The Rams will open with Saginaw United, a school in only it’s third year of existence after being reformed. The Phoenix went 15-8 with a tough schedule and too down a good Saginaw Heritage squad in their district final and will be looking to surprise the Rams the way Flint Carman Ainsworth did n the regions a year ago.

If the Rams win, we will also present Regional Final coverage here!

Region 2 – ALL GAMES: The GAME NIGHT on MSR Crew will be making the trip out to Caledonia Tuesday and Thursday for one of the toughest regions in the state. Tuesday, the Grandville Bulldogs will look to continue their run after their first district title in 49 years as they take on Cam Ryans and state-title hungry Northview. Then it will be one of the most run-and-gun games you will be able to find in the state as top-3-ranked EK takes on West Ottawa, another team that loves to press and push the pace.

Myself and Chandler will also have the live coverage of the final, which will be a great matchup – regardless who wins on Tuesday!

DIVISION 2

Region 11 – GRCC + GRANT: We will present coverage of this region for as long as Grant or CC are still playing. Including coverage of both Tuesday night semis. First, GRCC takes on a history-making Fruitport team that captured their first district since 1938. Then Grant looks to continue one of the bets seasons in the history of their school as they look to advance vs Kenowa Hills.

Region 10 – FREELAND: The 21-3 Freeland Falcons look like a team with Breslin Center aspirations, and they will look to keep that run going Tuesday night as they take on 18-5 Portland at Owosso HS on Tuesday. If Freeland advances, we will also be set to bring coverage of the finals!

Be Sure to check out a ton of girls tournament action as they tip things off this week on Monday/Wednesday for the quarters, before we hand out a ton of hardware on Friday night as well with state title contenders like Rockford, South Christian, GRCC and more looking to raise district banners!
