The MHSAA Football season is flying by, already a third of the way through the regular season after a jam-packed Friday night. Below you can find the final scores, highlights and links to full articles of games in the Michigan Sports Radio coverage area:

Big Rapids 33 Reed City 14: The Cardinals secured a crucial victory in CSAA play, taking out the perennial league favorite Coyotes. After falling behind 14-7, the Cardinals scored the final 26 points in this contest. Garrett Foster iced the game with a pair of touchdown runs, finishing the night with 142 rushing yards on 20 carries. Kurt Wilber provided a defensive spark with a pick six for the victors. This is the second straight win in the series for Big Rapids, after losing the previous thirteen matchups.

Cedar Springs 36 Greenville 33: In the first game for both teams in the River Cities Alliance, they treated fans to a thriller. Cedar Springs raced out to a 30-13 lead after three quarters of play, before the ‘Jackets swarmed back. Greenville got three touchdown runs in just under six minutes of game play to secure a 33-30 advantage. With less than a minute to go, the Red Hawks went to the air, and the rare pass struck big. Rory Schoenborn found Marek Oleneak on a 48-yard touchdown toss with 20 seconds to play, giving Cedar their third win in as many tries. Schoenborn attempted just four passes in this game, completing them all for 155 yards and two scores. Case Johnson and Noah Long each broke 100 rushing yards for Greenville in defeat.

East Kentwood 41 Caledonia 35: The Fighting Scots gave up 34 unanswered points to start this game, before embarking on a furious rally. Ultimately, they would find themselves just a touchdown shy as EK improves to 2-1 on the season. In defeat, Brody Betser was 21/43 passing for 285 yards, three touchdowns, and he added 29 rushing yards and a score. Parker Little had 103 receiving yards and a touchdown on 8 catches to pace Caledonia.
Forest Hills Central 17 Forest Hills Northern 14: In a crosstown rivalry battle, the Rangers escape with a narrow victory to remain undefeated. Nick Williams was effective in this game, completing 8 of 16 passes for 156 yards and two scores. He also added 85 rushing yards on 14 carries. Both of Williams’ passing scores went to Brendan Cargil, who hauled in 7 passes for 108 yards. Defensively, Adam Piotrowski had 8 tackles, while Orion Roskam added 5 tackles and a fumble recovery. The decisive field goal was kicked by Elijah Lipke, who buried it from 40 yards out.
Frankenmuth 48 Alma 7: The Eagles, in their 69th season, defeated the Panthers for the program’s 500th all-time victory. Kobbi Ke had 220 rushing yards and two touchdowns, while the Frankenmuth defense sacked Alma six times to hold them to (-32) yards rushing.
Freeland 34 Swan Valley 0: The Falcons complete their third straight dominant performance, cruising past Swan Valley in a 34-0 shutout. In three victories this year, Freeland has outscored their opponents 132-6. Jake Metiva had another strong showing, with two passing touchdowns and a score with his legs. Zander Wheatley had two receiving scores, while Owen Case added a touchdown on the ground. Freeland could have expanded on this final margin, but they had a pair of fumbles inside the Swan Valley 10 yard line. Braden Petrie led Freeland with 135 rushing yards.
Gobles 46 Marcellus 40: The Tigers improve to 3-0 for the second straight season with a narrow win over Marcellus. In their quest to return to the postseason, Gobles should be favored in each of their next three matchups, before a strong pairing of Martin and Bridgman late in their schedule.
Grand Haven 26 West Ottawa 14: The Bucs improve to 2-1 with a victory over their lakeshore rival. Xzavier Rodriguez had a strong night for Grand Haven, as he threw for a 53-yard touchdown, rushed for another touchdown, and buried a pair of field goals late from 25 and 37 yards respectively.
Grand Rapids Sacred Heart 34 Muskegon Heights 8: The Falcons improve to 3-0 with their win over Muskegon Heights. It was a big night for Will Hyland, who rushed 16 times for 185 yards and three touchdowns. Hyland also found Andrew Detmers for a passing score, and he returned a kick 67 yards for Sacred Heart’s fifth score. Sacred Heart outgained the Heights 354-118 in this contest, icing the game with 20 fourth quarter points.

Holland Christian 38 Holland 12: The Maroons maintain their dominance in this rivalry, winning for the 16th time in 18 meetings. Evan Abberger finished 24/35 passing for 259 yards and three scores. Two of those scoring tosses went to Simon Grotenhuis. Isaiah Meyard added two rushing touchdowns and 50 yards rushing. Caden VanHuis buried another deep field goal, this time from 46 yards out.

Ludington 43 Fremont 12: The Orioles used a balanced attack to secure a victory over the Packers. Ludington passed for 220 yards, completing 16/19 pass attempts, and the victors added 194 rushing yards on 32 carries.

Mendon 84 Concord 20: Owen Gorham rushed for 300 yards and five touchdowns in an onslaught by the Hornets’ offense. Xavier Zinsmaster added a hat-trick on the ground with 79 yards and three scores, while JT Lux chipped in a pair of rushing touchdowns. In total Mendon rushed for 567 yards, while completing their lone pass attempt for a three-yard gain.

Muskegon Catholic Central 49 Benton Harbor 8: The Crusaders earned their first victory of the season in a rivalry that dates back decades. The former LMAC foes played a lopsided affair on Friday night. Bryan Convertini rushed for three touchdowns on nine carries. Quinn Swanson, Tim Railling and Jude Grevel each ran for a single touchdown, while Bode Zygmuntowski and Henry Rosema paired up on a touchdown pass for MCC.
Newaygo 40 Grant 0: The Lions destroyed their conference rivals, posting their first shutout since September 9, 2022. Ethan Reyburn had three touchdowns in the victory, on runs of 6, 12 and 26 yards. Porter Slominski and Cade Gassman added to the scoring column for the victors. This is Newaygo’s first 3-0 start since 2014.

Unity Christian 44 Forest Hills Eastern 20: The ‘Saders match their 2023 win total, improving to 3-0 with an impressive victory over previously unbeaten FHE. After the Hawks took a 7-6 lead with five minutes left in the first quarter, Unity proceeded to score 29 unanswered points to create some separation. Jackson DeHoop completed 2/3 passes for the victors, racking up 125 yards and two scores, both to Isaac Stienstra, who also rushed for two touchdowns on eight carries.
