The high school boys and girls start conference play tonight with some great match-ups, and we’ve got you covered on MSR.

Grand Rapids Catholic Central and South Christian feature our game of the week in the OK-Gold conference.

The Cougars (1-3) have played a loaded schedule for Coach Meerman to open the campaign, and have dropped 3 in a row. But, CC remains as strong of a state title threat as ever, led by future Michigan Wolverine: Durral Brooks.

The Sailors (5-2) have played a similarly loaded schedule as HC Taylor Johnson looks to go back to the Breslin Center in his second year at the helm of SC. Carson Vis, Jake VerMaas and a wealth of championship-proven talent on the hardwood and gridiron look to defend home floor tonight.

Bob Sack, Curt Copeland, and Rick Wesley have the coverage for a boys/girls doubleheader – starting at 5:50!

Also on MSR, the OK-Red gets off to a hot start as Grand Haven travels to Hudsonville, we’ve got both the girls and boys matchups there, as all four teams have deep playoff hopes and are off to hot starts. The girls are a combined 12-1 in this matchup and the boys teams are each looking to carry strong performances in holiday break showcases into the new year, at Hudsonville’s incredible new Fieldhouse – Hosting it’s first OK-Red action!

Also in the Red, Grandville hosts Jenison – as the Bulldog boys, led by GVSU signee Cam Regnerus in the post (5-1) look to continue their fast start before the reigning district champion Wildcat girls look to open conference play with a 1-0 mark.

Plus, West Ottawa and EK tip-off play in the Red at East Kentwood. As future D1 star Christian Humphrey Rembert and the Falcons look to hold off a Panthers squad off to a really good 4-1 start. Then the Falcons girls, one of the best teams in the state looks to open the tough OK-Red with a win, but will need to take down Miss basketball contender Gabby Reynolds and WO.

And, Coopersville vs Holland Christian play in a battle, that on the boys side, may wind up determining the final OK-Blue standings in a fun clash of styles.

Plus check out Forest Hills Northern vs Northview – featuring Coach Chana and the Wildcats, as the next-level-talent-loaded ‘Cats take on an old rival!
