The Rangers are returning to the semifinals after throttling the Blue Devils, ending Gaylord’s perfect season. This was a 33-7 victory that was never in doubt for Coach Rogers’ crew.
Mason McDonald finished 9/12 passing for 157 yards and a score. Brenden Cargill had 53 receiving yards, including that touchdown. Ty Hudkins paced the receiving core with 105 yards on 4 catches.
JT Hartman was everywhere in this game, making an impact on both sides of the football. He had 23 carries for 135 yards and three scores. Additionally, JT added a team high 10 tackles.
On defense, Brady Drueke (7 tackles) and Micah Meadows (5 tackles) were thorns in the Blue Devils attack. When the football hit the turf, Orion Roskam and Ford Fauson each seized an opportunity to secure a turnover for the victors.
With this win, the 11-1 Rangers advance to next Saturday’s semifinal. They will play the winner of Saturday’s showdown between Zeeland West and Parma Western at a location to be determined by the MHSAA.
