Gladwin found their backs up against the wall last week in their battle with the Clare Pioneers. At one point down 3-21 in that game, the Flying G’s roared back to dominate the second half of that game. For a defending State Champion, you wouldn’t expect anything less. This week, things would come a bit easier for Gladwin.

The Flying G’s were off and running in this one. They would get on the board first after an 80-yard touchdown run. The Gladwin defense would help out the offense and they would find themselves with a 7-0 after one quarter of play.

It would be a big time quarter for Gladwin in the second. A big 55-yard touchdown run would put more space between them and the Mustangs at 13-0. A Braden Ritchie 2-yard run might have been the back-breaker later in the quarter. That would give Gladwin a 20-0 lead to that point. And they weren’t done yet. A 5-yard run touchdown run would cap off a monster quarter for the Flying G’s. It would be Gladwin holding a big lead at the half, 26-0.

There was some big time urgency from Gladwin for much of the night. They would add on to it in the third on a Nore Cajigas 9-yard touchdown run. This would up the Gladwin lead to 33-0. Then the defense would decide to get in on the scoring fun. Harvey Grove would grab a scoop-and-score fumble return from 19-yards out as they lead grew to 40-0. The defense decided that was so much fun that they would then add a safety to their stats.

There wouldn’t be much action in the fourth quarter as both teams would stay off the board. Gladwin wouldn’t need it on this night. They roll over Sanford Meridian, 42-0.

The Mustangs could never get much going on the night as they fall to 1-4 on the season. They will face a tough Beaverton team who sits at 3-2 after a big win over Pinconning in week five. The Beavers welcome them in next Friday night.

Gladwin rolls to 5-0 on the year. They will take on a Pinconning team who fell to 2-3 after their loss to Beaverton. The Flying G’s had everything clicking on the night as it is a program who has now won 19-games in a row.
